Born and brought up in the shadow of Mount Manaslu, the eighth tallest mountain in the world, in Gorkha district, popularly known as “Sundar,” Rohan Thapa Magar is a highly experienced and passionate trekking guide at Mountain Ascents Pvt. Ltd. with over 9 years of leading fellow adventurers to their dream destination.
Having completed higher education in computer science, Rohan initially aspired to join the British Army, but later found his true inner calling from nature (mountains). Mr. Thapa has held a certified Trekking Guide License from the NATHM since 2017 and is trained in Basic Introductory Rock Climbing, Basic Mountain Rescue, Rock Level 1 conducted by the NMIA, and Mountain Leader Courses I, II, and III by the NMA.
Known for hard work, warm hospitality, deep respect for nature, and strong leadership, having conquered Island Peak (6,160m), Lobuche Peak (6,119m), Mera Peak (6,472 m), and Yala Peak (5,520m), Mr.Thapa is keen to share his intimate knowledge of the mountains, trails, and local culture at Mountain Ascents.
