Originally from the east side of Nepal, i.e., the Solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone, the center of the Everest region that houses the top of the world, Mount Everest (8,848.86 m), Tara Thapa Magar developed an early connection to the stunning Himalayas and deep respect for the natural world and cultures. His motto is “Never stop striving for something new,” and he strives to welcome challenges with a smile.
With over a decade of experience as a licensed trekking guide since 2013, after being part of Nepalese tourism since 2007 as a porter and assistant guide, his firsthand knowledge of high-altitude expeditions such as Everest Three High Passes Treks and camping treks, followed by his strong communication skills as a fluent speaker of Nepali, Hindi, Japanese, and English, make him a favorite professional to go on a voyage with.
Trained in high-altitude safety and first aid courses by KEEP, rescue training by TAAN, and introductory rock climbing, for commendable leadership and safety along with a welcoming spirit to his homeland, Mr.Tara ensures care and local insights, a much-needed ingredient for an unforgettable and authentic trekking, climbing, and expedition experience.
